TM57
Anti-Tank (anti-vehicle) mine
 

 

 

The TM57 is a metal cased AT blast mine that can be laid by hand or machine and was made in the former Soviet Union. It is known to have been used in Afghanistan, Angola, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Chad, Chechnya, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Iraq, Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mozambique, Namibia, Nicaragua, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, Vietnam, Western Sahara, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The mine is usually olive green with black stencilled lettering.

Main charge: 6.34 kg of TNT, TGA or MS.

The mine can be used with a pressure or a tilt-rod fuze. The pressure fuze is the MVZ-57 with integral detonator. The tilt-rod fuze is the MVSh-57 with an MD-10 detonator. There is an auxiliary fuze well in the side of the mine which could be used for an anti-lift device.
